For those who haven’t read it (the “GPT-2/Frankenstein” book), this is about a young student (an “automaton,” as it were) at the Frankenstein Institute for Numerical Research who gets put in charge of a project to design “an intelligent person” based on the “theory” that only the “human mind” can create things numerical complexity can surpass – this would be the “human mind” in the sense of “we’ll make a human robot so advanced it cannot be created by an even more advanced human robot,” which is kind of silly because it’s just a rephrase of Turing’s old idea that the mind can’t be comprehended even by a machine)
Anyway there’s a lot of twists and turns, but the important one is that the young student, who is very smart and talented and has the mind but not the flesh, has an affair with his best friend’s hot girl roommate. The twist is that they are actually one and the same person, and the hot guy and girl are a married couple.
There’s also a lot of other things going on involving the young student’s mom, but that’s kind of boring
